Softball Recap: Dos Palos Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Dos Palos never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Tranquillity Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Carly Brinkley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liliana DelaRosa, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Samantha VonAllman was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Dos Palos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dos Palos is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Tranquillity, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Dos Palos and Tranquillity will both be playing Coalinga the next time they take the field. The Broncos will host the Horned Toads at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
