Basketball Recap: New Hampstead's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

New Hampstead won the last time they faced Perry and things went their way on Saturday too. The New Hampstead Phoenix walked away with a 62-49 victory over the Perry Panthers. Given the Phoenix's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Panthers are ranked 465th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Hampstead has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Perry, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Hampstead has already played their next match (against Ware County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Perry will be playing in front of their home fans against Benedictine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
