Metairie Park Country Day (Metairie, La.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat
St. Edmund (Eunice, La.), 37-13, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Andrew Kern in the first quarter, the Cajuns led 27-7 at the half.
Metairie Park Country Day expanded its lead to 30 points entering the fourth quarter. MPCD scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Michael Mann to Kern.
With the win the Metairie school extended its winning streak to eight games. The Cajuns defeated the Saints 44-0 last week.
Kern was the top performer for Metairie Park Country Day. The junior quarterback ran for two touchdowns and caught two touchdowns.
MPCD had given up an average of 15.0 points prior to the contest.
The loss comes after St. Edmund defeated Sacred Heart 10-0 last week. The loss snapped the Fighting Blue Jays' 3-game winning streak.
