Basketball Recap: Beechcroft Comes Up Short

If Beechcroft was riding high fresh off their 53-13 takedown of Mifflin last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Beechcroft Cougars were dealt a 72-29 loss at the hands of the Centennial Stars on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Stars: they've now lost four in a row.

Centennial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kennedy Houston out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine steals. Houston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Houston, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds.

Beechcroft's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Centennial, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beechcroft will host Whetstone at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centennial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
