Football Recap: Kane Pittman Leads Irvin's Defense on Friday

After losing to Clint the last time they met, Irvin decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rockets snuck past the Lions with a 20-15 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rockets.

One reason for the win was Irvin's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Clint's QB won't forget Kane Pittman anytime soon given he sacked him twice. With that strong performance, Pittman is now averaging an impressive 5.6 total tackles per game. Gael Flores was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 16 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

When it comes to explaining why Clint lost, don't look at Isaiah Mizcles. Despite the final result, he rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 120 yards on only nine passes.

The victory got Irvin back to even at 5-5. As for Clint, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Irvin will square off against West Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rockets will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Clint does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
