Volleyball Recap: Coronado's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Coronado had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Overland Trailblazers by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gavin Mason paced Coronado's offense, picking up 21 kills. Mason got some help from Paolo Piuma and his 55 assists. Finally, Jayden Dirksen kept Coronado's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Coronado's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Overland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Coronado nor Overland have any future games scheduled.
