Baseball Recap: Emery Takes a Loss

Emery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle.

Bronx Olsen was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Brek Griffin also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Emery's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Juan Diego Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Emery will take on Payson at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Emery is facing Payson at the right time seeing as Payson is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Juan Diego Catholic, they will venture away from home to take on Pine View at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Juan Diego Catholic's pitchers better be ready for this one: Pine View has averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
