Baseball Recap: Coventry Triumphs

Coventry proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Westerly Bulldogs, sneaking past 5-3. That's more bragging rights for the Oakers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

LJ Stembridge was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Griffin Frenze, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coventry's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coventry wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-0 loss against Bishop Hendricken on the 6th. As for Westerly, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Cranston East on the 4th.
