The Mills Vikings will square off against the Aragon Dons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Mills was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against St. Ignatius College Preparatory on Monday. The Vikings blew past the Wildcats 14-4. Considering the Vikings have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Isabel Chen and Gina Hillman did most of the damage at the plate: Chen went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Hillman went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three runs gave Chen a new career-high. Alyssa Penas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Aragon's offense. They lost 11-0 to San Mateo on Tuesday. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Aragon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Workman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Another was Destiny Garcia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple.
Aragon's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Mills, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Aragon struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mills got the 'W' in their previous meeting on April 7th against Aragon by a conclusive 25-11 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
