Volleyball Recap: Sam Houston Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sam Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Arlington Colts, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Sam Houston's offense was headlined by Ryleigh Russell and Patience Ondiba, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Samera Burton and her five assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Arlington found their leader in freshman Evelien Hodges, who had 13 assists and five digs. Campbell Peach also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Sam Houston's loss dropped their record down to 5-23-1. As for Arlington, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-20 record this season.

Sam Houston has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Lamar on the 14th. As for Arlington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Bowie on the 14th.
