Drake Gibson gave up the fewest earned runs he has since April 1st on Monday. Nobody could stop him as he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Quincy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-11 otherwise.

Gibson's effort led Quincy over East Moline United and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 183 places lower in Illinois), but they're not letting that get them down.
