Monroeville extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 17-2 in the process. They blew past the St. Paul Flyers 12-1. Considering the Eagles have won 11 matchups by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Veanna Helmstetter was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off nine hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Taryn Tyler was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Taylor Scheid was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Monroeville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

As for St. Paul, they moved to 10-7 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. The contest marked their lowest-scoring match so far this season.

On St. Paul's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kegney Stoll, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monroeville beat the Flyers by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday.
