Volleyball Game Preview: Otis-Bison Cougars vs. Phillipsburg Panthers

Otis-Bison is 0-8 against Phillipsburg since September of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Cougars will challenge the Panthers. Otis-Bison will be strutting in after a victory while Phillipsburg will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Otis-Bison beat Macksville 2-0. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Otis-Bison easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Phillipsburg didn't have quite enough to beat Hays on Thursday and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost five in a row.

Phillipsburg might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Hays: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 25-23.

Phillipsburg now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Otis-Bison, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Otis-Bison couldn't quite get it done against Phillipsburg in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
