It was a Battle of the Birds when Armwood took on Leto on Wednesday. The Hawks blew past the Falcons 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Armwood let Tikema Jackson and Janelle Pagan run wild. Jackson went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI, while Pagan went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Pagan a new career-high. Justine Smith was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Armwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leto only posted an OBP of .483.
