Volleyball Preview: Shelbyville Dragons vs. Evadale Rebels
After both having extra time off, the Shelbyville Dragons and the Evadale Rebels will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
On Friday, Shelbyville didn't have quite enough to beat Hemphill and fell 3-2.
Shelbyville actually scored more points across those five sets (111-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 17-25, 18-16.

Bailee Bohannon put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 18 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Cadee Harley also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Evadale entered their tilt with West Hardin on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Oilers.
While Evadale won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-22, 25-20.
Shelbyville dropped their record down to 8-18 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Evadale, their win bumped their record up to 11-22.
Shelbyville took their victory against Evadale when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
