Recap: Norcom Greyhounds vs. Lake Taylor Titans
The Norcom Greyhounds''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Lake Taylor 34-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Norcom in their matchups with Lake Taylor: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Norcom had strong showings from Matthew Outten, who gained 200 total yards and three touchdowns, and Tyrell Grant jr., who threw for 305 yards and three touchdowns. Outten's longest reception was for an incredible 87 yards.
Norcom has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Lake Taylor, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Norcom will look to defend their home field on Friday against Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Booker T. Washington is ranked 128th, while Norcom is ranked 116th). As for Lake Taylor, they will head out on the road to face off against Norview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Norview comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
