Baseball Recap: Solebury Comes Up Short

Solebury lost against Community Academy of Philadelphia back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 9-8.

Bryan Bassler was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Laith Baeringer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Solebury's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Community Academy of Philadelphia, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Solebury will take on Academy of the New Church at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. As for Community Academy of Philadelphia, they will venture away from home to challenge Mercy Career & Technical at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
