It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lima Central Catholic had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over the Kalida Wildcats. That 20 run margin sets a new team best for the Thunderbirds this season.

The win made it two in a row for Lima Central Catholic and bumps their season record up to 7-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Kalida, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Lima Central Catholic will square off against Waynesfield-Goshen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. Kalida does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
