Baseball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Graford Rabbits by a score of 1-0. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rabbits apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

The victory was the third in a row for Graford, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Meridian will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Hico at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hico is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Graford, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against Gorman at 1:00 p.m. on March 10th.
