Basketball Game Preview: Ash Fork Spartans vs. Bagdad Sultans + How To Watch

Ash Fork and Bagdad are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Spartans will head out to challenge the Sultans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Ash Fork will be strutting in after a win while Bagdad will be coming in after a defeat.

Ash Fork is headed out to face Bagdad after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Spartans simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Seligman 93-4. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Antelopes recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Ash Fork found their leader in sophomore Isabella Acosta, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 steals. Acosta's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Staples, who shot 44% from the field on her way to 17 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Bagdad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 20-18 heartbreaker at the hands of Grand Canyon.

Everything came up roses for Ash Fork against Bagdad in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 48-8 win. In that matchup, the Spartans amassed a halftime lead of 35-3, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
