Volleyball Recap: Piper Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Piper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Coral Springs Colts. The Bengals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Piper actually scored more points across those five sets (108-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 11-25, 21-25, 17-15.

When it comes to explaining why Piper lost, don't look at Martha Monzon. Despite the final result, she had 24 digs and ten aces. Monzon is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Melody Delamotte was another key player, getting 15 digs and two aces.

Piper now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Coral Springs, their win ended a five-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Coming up, Piper will host Stranahan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coral Springs, they will face off against Coral Glades at 4:30 p.m. on October 8.
