Basketball Recap: Catholic Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against La Salle Institute last Friday, Catholic Central came back down to earth. The Catholic Central Crusaders fell to the Albany Academy for Girls Bears 59-54. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 72-52.

Catholic Central's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 15-3. As for Albany Academy for Girls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Catholic Central and Albany Academy for Girls should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Catholic Central (ranked 16th) will meet Academy of the Holy Names (ranked 73rd) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Catholic Central will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak. Similarly, Albany Academy for Girls will face off against La Salle Institute at 6:30 p.m. on Friday up 159 places (28 vs. 187). Catholic Central is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
