Volleyball Recap: Vika Vuyiv and Lyden Scapaletto Secure Win for Charleston Collegiate

Charleston Collegiate won the last time they faced Dorchester Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Sundevils put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 3-0 win.

Charleston Collegiate not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Dorchester Academy between 16 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-18.

Leading Charleston Collegiate to victory were Lyden Scapaletto and Vika Vuyiv. Scapaletto had 14 digs and two aces, while Vuyiv had 23 assists and two aces. Vuyiv has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last ten times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Charleston Collegiate was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in eight consecutive matches.

The victory got Charleston Collegiate back to even at 13-13. As for Dorchester Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

As of now, neither Charleston Collegiate nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
