Volleyball Game Preview: Farmington Phoenix vs. Syracuse Titans

The Farmington Phoenix will head out on the road to square off against the Syracuse Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Farmington's win against Weber wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Phoenix had just enough and edged out the Warriors 3-2 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Phoenix.

Farmington got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-29, 30-28, 19-25, 25-20, 15-12.

Farmington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Evans, who had 17 digs and one assist. Those 17 digs gave Evans a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Syracuse had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They blew past the Lancers 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-12, 25-15.

Syracuse pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Farmington, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Farmington came up short against Syracuse when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 3-1. Thankfully for the Phoenix, Branson Hamblin (who had 28 digs and six assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
