Baseball Recap: Tehachapi Takes a Loss

Tehachapi extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-11. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Garces Memorial Rams. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Rams when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Garces Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For Garces Memorial's part, Esiahs Chavez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Nick Zunino was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Cole Forster was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Tehachapi has already played their next game, an 11-6 win against East Bakersfield on the 7th. Garces Memorial has also already played their next matchup (against Centennial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
