Softball Recap: Wayne County Comes Up Short

Rockcastle County hit Wayne County with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals came up short against the Rockets, falling 9-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 back in April.

This is the second loss in a row for Wayne County and nudges their season record down to 12-14. As for Rockcastle County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-16-1 record this season.

Wayne County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rockcastle County, they are taking a road trip to take on Taylor County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
