Oswayo Valley hasn't had much luck against Bucktail recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Green Wave will take on the Bucks at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Oswayo Valley is leaving town to face Bucktail after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Green Wave lost 24-11 to Port Allegany last Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
Meanwhile, while Bucktail put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Benton. The Bucks put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Bucks have won three matches by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Eva Sockman was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Lola English was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
Bucktail always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Oswayo Valley might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Bucktail when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Green Wave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
