Football Recap: Salado Eagles vs. Little River Academy Bumblebees
After flying high against Giddings last Friday, Salado came back down to earth. The Eagles took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Little River Academy Bumblebees on Friday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bumblebees apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Despite the loss, Salado still got an impressive performance from Luke Bingham, who rushed for 106 yards and one TD.
It was another big night for Brian Grissom, who rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 45 receiving yards and one score for Little River Academy. That's the most rushing touchdowns Grissom has posted since back in October of 2024.
Salado's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Little River Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
