Basketball Game Preview: Council Cobras vs. Grundy Golden Wave

Council is 0-10 against Grundy since January of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Council Cobras will challenge the Grundy Golden Wave at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Council got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 40-39 victory over Twin Valley.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Grundy against Hurley on Friday as the team secured a 76-38 win. The Golden Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Grundy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.7 points. As for Council, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-12.

Council took a serious blow against Grundy when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 71-35. Can Council avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
