Basketball Recap: East New York Arts and Civics Comes Up Short

East New York Arts and Civics was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Spring Creek. While losing is never fun, East New York Arts and Civics can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 721st, while Spring Creek is ranked 247th).

East New York Arts and Civics' loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Spring Creek, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

After both having extra time off, East New York Arts and Civics and All City Leadership Academy will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Spring Creek, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against East New York Family Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 31st. East New York Family Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Spring Creek likes a good challenge.
