Baseball Recap: Grace Christian's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Grace Christian extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 19-7 in the process. They came out on top against the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons by a score of 4-1. For the Crusaders, this counts as revenge for the 12-11 win the Golden Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Landon McDonald tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Ethan Bunce was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. Jimmy Alfonsin was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Grace Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as C.B. Aycock struck out 12 times.

As for C.B. Aycock, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-13. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On C.B. Aycock's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Fricks, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As of now, neither Grace Christian nor the Golden Falcons have any future games scheduled.
