Football Recap: Satellite's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

If Satellite was feeling good fresh off their 48-8 takedown of Somerset Academy Key last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Scorpions took a 26-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Nassau Warriors on Friday. The matchup marked the Scorpions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

West Nassau's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Smo Green led the charge by rushing for 128 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Andi Ataiza also helped out as he racked up 115 rushing yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Satellite fell to 7-1. As for West Nassau, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Satellite will challenge Tradition Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Nassau, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dixie County at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
