Volleyball Recap: Coronado Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Coronado proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Sand Creek Scorpions 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The victory didn't come easy: Sand Creek scored at least nine points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-27, 15-9.

Bryce McDonald was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had 18 digs and two assists. Those 18 digs gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Sand Creek still got an impressive performance from Aiden Moss, who had 15 digs and one assist.

Coronado's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Sand Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Coronado is set to challenge their familiar foe Fountain-Fort Carson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sand Creek will take on rival Cheyenne Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
