Basketball Recap: Denmark-Olar Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Denmark-Olar won against Stratford last Wednesday with 55 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. The Denmark-Olar Vikings strolled past the Chapin Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 55-40. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-36 two weeks ago.

Denmark-Olar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kalen Mayes, who posted 21 points and five steals. Mayes is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Aveion Walker was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six boards and five steals.

Chapin lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brooke Holmes, who had seven points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Haggard, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Denmark-Olar's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Chapin, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Denmark-Olar will head out to take on South Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in South Pointe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Chapin, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-49 loss against Blythewood on the 17th.
