Recap: Winslow Township Eagles vs. Cherokee Chiefs
The Winslow Township Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They suffered a rough 56-32 loss at the hands of Cherokee. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Winslow Township in their matchups with Cherokee: they've now lost eight in a row.
Winslow Township's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeallen Lane, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Hajir Davis, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Winslow Township's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Cherokee, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winslow Township will be home for the holidays to greet Absegami at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cherokee will be home for the holidays to greet Clearview at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
