Baseball Game Preview: Kennewick Lions vs. Mount Vernon Bulldogs

The Kennewick Lions will take on the Mount Vernon Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kennewick comes in on 14 and Mount Vernon on 21.

Kennewick is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Gig Harbor as they made off with a 12-5 win. Considering the Lions have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Mount Vernon faced Ballard in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Beavers, sneaking past 4-3.

Kennewick pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Mount Vernon, their victory bumped their record up to 26-4.
