Softball Game Preview: Layton Lancers vs. Ogden Tigers

The Layton Lancers will take on the Ogden Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Layton is looking for their season's first victory.

Layton's tournament run continued when they took on Copper Hills on Saturday. The Lancers took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies.

Serenity Overton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Ogden couldn't beat Morgan on Friday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the fifth inning. The Tigers lost 25-12 to the Trojans. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 18, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Aracely DeLeon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Lauretta Taylor was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Layton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Ogden, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11.
