Softball Recap: Newton Braves vs. North Warren Regional Patriots
After flying high against Hackettstown on Tuesday, Newton came back down to earth. The Braves came up short against the North Warren Regional Patriots on Thursday, falling 11-2. If the Braves were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Patriots when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Newton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaida Long, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Newton now has a losing record of 5-6. As for North Warren Regional, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
Looking ahead, Newton will welcome Parsippany at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Warren Regional, they will venture away from home to square off against Notre Dame at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Patriots are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
