Baseball Game Preview: Huffman Vikings vs. Shades Valley Mounties

Huffman hasn't had much luck against Shades Valley recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mounties at 12:00 p.m. Shades Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Huffman, who comes in off a win.

Huffman is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Woodlawn on Friday as they made off with a 19-5 win. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Colonels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Aden Brown tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Huffman got a massive performance out of Dylan Craig, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. The Vikings are undefeated when Craig posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Christion Glenn, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Shades Valley came up short against McAdory on Friday, falling 16-7. The Mounties have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Landon Kyle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Devin Scott was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Shades Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Huffman, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
