Softball Game Preview: Cordova Lancers vs. Antelope Titans

The Cordova Lancers will challenge the Antelope Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cordova has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cordova is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Oakmont on Wednesday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Antelope was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They fell just short of West Park by a score of 4-2. The loss continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Antelope's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Cordova, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cordova has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Antelope struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
