Basketball Recap: Robinson Skates Past Concord with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Robinson on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Concord Spiders out of the water with a 68-26 final score. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Robinson was led to victory by Camri Hobbs and Shariyah Rucker. Hobbs went 5 of 6 en route to 17 points along with eight assists and six boards, while Rucker posted 20 points and four steals. Hobbs is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Chambers, who had 11 points and three steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Robinson was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Kaylin Williams and Alani Smith-Rogers certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Williams posted nine points and four steals, while Smith-Rogers went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points.

Robinson pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Concord, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Robinson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-24 win against Northwest Cabarrus on the 7th. As for Concord, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-52 victory against Carson on the 7th.
