While Lathrop didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Maryville Spoofhounds on Monday. This was payback for the Mules, who suffered an 11-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

The win made it two in a row for Lathrop and bumps their season record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Maryville, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Coming up, Lathrop will host Christ Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mules' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Maryville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Savannah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Savages will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Spoofhounds surely won't give up without a fight.
