Recap: Bristol Central Rams vs. Newington Nor'easters
The Bristol Central Rams waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 20-17 win over Newington. This was payback for Bristol Central, who suffered a 18-0 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bristol Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Glasper, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Although Newington took the loss, they still got scores from Akari Rosemond and Aiden Bengtson.
Bristol Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Newington, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 10:30 a.m. on November 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Bristol Eastern is ranked 75th, while Bristol Central is ranked 65th). Newington will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Wethersfield at 6:00 p.m. on November 22nd. Wethersfield is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
