Baseball Recap: Pocono Mountain West Comes Up Short

Pocono Mountain West had lost nine straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-17 to make it ten. They lost 11-4 to the Scranton Knights. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Pocono Mountain West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Kaulfers, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Scranton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 7 runs.

On Scranton's side, Parker Woznick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Woznick has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Thor Kelly was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. He has become a key player for Scranton: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joe McIntyre, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Pocono Mountain West nor Scranton have any future games scheduled.
