Baseball Recap: Marist Takes a Loss

Marist came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-3 to the St. Rita Mustangs. The RedHawks haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Marist saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Hosty, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Hosty has posted since back in April of 2024.

Marist's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for St. Rita, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Marist will be taking part in a tournament against Homewood-Flossmoor at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Rita, they are taking a road trip to square off against Thompson at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
