Calloway County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They came up short against the Carlisle County Comets, falling 17-8. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Lakers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Lyla Ward made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that she has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Cain, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Calloway County's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Carlisle County, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-10.

Coming up, Calloway County will take on Caldwell County in a tournament on Saturday. The Lakers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Carlisle County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Marshall County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
