Basketball Game Preview: Russell County Warriors vs. Rehobeth Rebels

The Russell County Warriors will square off against the Rehobeth Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Saturday, Russell County came up short against Pike Road and fell 53-46. The Warriors have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Russell County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mckenzie Word, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 21 points and three steals, and Camyra Toney, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. What's more, Toney also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2023.

Meanwhile, Rehobeth took a blow against Park Crossing on Friday, falling 100-15. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked seventh).

Rehobeth has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Russell County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
