Sunnyslope extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping them up to 9-1. They strolled past the Chaparral Wolverines with points to spare, taking the game 62-45. Give the Vikings' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.

As for Chaparral, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-1. The loss was their first of the season.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Champ Spears, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Christian Williams, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 15 points and five boards.

Coming up, Sunnyslope will be taking part in a tournament against Roosevelt at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Vikings will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Chaparral, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Liberty at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolverines will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
