The Beaver Local Beavers will challenge the Buckeye Local Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beaver Local will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Beaver Local will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Indian Creek, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Beavers put the hurt on the Redskins with a sharp 8-2 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Beavers have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Addie Thurik was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Ciara Call and Brylee Curtis did most of the damage at the plate: Call scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Curtis scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Curtis is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Wright, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Buckeye Local came up short against Brooke on Wednesday and fell 9-5.
Danika Bauknecht made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Tatum Walker also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Beaver Local's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Buckeye Local, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Beaver Local hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .399. However, it's not like Buckeye Local struggles in that department as they've averaged .377. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Beaver Local might still be hurting after the 17-4 defeat they got from Buckeye Local in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Will the Beavers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
