Basketball Recap: Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

The Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles claimed a resounding 58-22 victory over the King Mustangs thanks in part to Perry, who posted 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Alex Cahuya, who earned eight points and six boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2023.

King's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Janiya Heard, who had two points in addition to six blocks and five boards, and Rihana Gonzales, who put up two points.

The win made it two in a row for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial and bumps their season record up to 13-16. As for King, they dropped their record down to 9-23 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
